Kick-off meeting

08/10/2024

GHENT

Research projects traditionally organise Kick Off Meetings (KOM) which provide the first occasion for all the partners to meet in person, having only talked via video during the months of preparing the project proposal.

Apart from this interpersonal  element we took part as well as to organise tasks and work packages, resolve questions and issues, and to explain how reporting and accounting should be undertaken.

Even though many project partners have long experience in Horizon and CBEJU projects it is always good to update and refresh the rules related to the financial support the CBEJU have provided. We should remember that projects spend public money so there must be the maximum attention to detail and probity.

The KOM was held in Gent Belgium and organised by Gent University, the project coordinator, on 8 and 9 October 2024 and was chaired by Professor Steven De Meester.  We thank him and his colleagues for looking after us so well and guaranteeing a collaborative approach.

We were delighted to be joined by our CBEJU Project Officer, Mónica PÉREZ-CABEROwho stayed with us the first day who presented the CBEJU and gave a presentation on reporting and accounting.

As usual, a group photo was taken in the centre of Gent as proof we really were there !

The KOM gave us the opportunity to interview work package leaders, and you can find HEREthose brief dialogues on the tasks of each WP.
