French pilot
French pilot
Description
The French/Belgian pilot, coordinated by SUEZ, NTCP and Futerro, will focus on bio-based plastic materials from the packaging bin and also on materials from pre-treated organic waste streams. As in the other pilots, NIR and artificial intelligence are used to improve the identification and separation of bio-based plastics within the light packaging waste stream.
The main goal in this step is to separate from the original stream the bio-based plastic fraction with a good level of purity. The selected plastics are then sent to NTCP for pre-treatment, which is necessary to prepare the material for the subsequent transformation. Once ready, the bio-based plastics are transferred to Futerro, which performs chemical recycling through a proprietary depolymerization technology.
The entire cycle is validated through quality tests and analysis of the chemical-physical and thermal properties of the recycled bio-based plastic.
